HD 169830

HD 169830 is an approximately 120 light-years distant main sequence star of spectral type F8 in the constellation Sagittarius. Its mass is about 1.4 solar masses. The star is surrounded by two spectroscopic companions, known as HD 169830 b and HD 169830 c, and where it might be to exoplanets. The discovery of the first companion was published in 2001, that was followed by the second three years later.

Companion

The inner companion, HD 169830 b, orbits the central star with a period of about 226 days and has a minimum mass of about 2.9 Jupiter masses. The outer companion, HD 169830 c, has a period of a little more than 2,000 days and a minimum mass of about 4 Jupiter masses.
