HD 179949 b

HD 179949 b is an exoplanet, the yellow dwarf HD 179949 orbits every 3.092514 days. Due to its high mass is assumed that it is a gas planet.

Discovery

As the majority of exoplanets was also discovered that using the radial velocity method. The planet was from CG Tinney, R. Paul Butler, Geoffrey Marcy et al. discovered in 2000.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of about 0.0443 astronomical units at an eccentricity of 2.2% and has a mass of about 291.2 Earth masses and 0.916 Jupiter masses.
