HD 47536

180 L ☉

HD 47536 is a 400 light- years from Earth distant giant of spectral type K1 like with an apparent brightness of 5.3. The star is surrounded by at least a sub-stellar object, the confirmation of a second is still pending.

Companion

In 2003 found Setiawan et al. using the radial velocity method a companion to HD 47536, for which she. orbital period of 712 days and a minimum mass of below 10 Jupiter masses given, which makes the object with the systematic name HD 47536 b to a potential exoplanets

In the course of subsequent observations of the star with FEROS and Coralie found Setiawan et al. Evidence of a further spectroscopic companion. HD 47536 c has with about 2500 days to a larger orbital period and has a minimum mass of about 7 Jupiter masses. Due to this discovery, they also determined a revised solution for the inner companion with an orbital period of about 430 days and a minimum mass of about 5 Jupiter masses. The confirmation of the outer companion is currently pending ( as of end of 2010).
