Head tube

The steering head or head tax is the highly stressed part of the chassis of a bicycle or trike in the means of two bearings, the fork out and is rotatably mounted. It forms the bearing for steering or the solid pipe to the construction of this storage.

There are alternative designs that do either without steering head ( for example wheel hubs steering) or provide the steering head for the lower forces of the steering movement itself, but not for the force- transmitting connection between the front and rear wheel ( axle steering by Yamaha) only.
