Heavens Gate (band)

Heavens Gate was a heavy metal band from Wolfsburg. It was founded in 1988 by singer and songwriter Thomas Rettke together with Thorsten Müller, Bonny Bilski, Sascha Paeth and Manni Jordan. She had her biggest success in 1991 with their album Livin ' In Hysteria, which became a box office hit in Japan.

Band History

Already for her first self-produced demo the band got an offer for a contract by the head of Warner Chapell Subverlages / Edition Metromania, Frank Bornemann. He invited the band to come to Hanover to his Horus Sound Studio in order to record a professional demo with producer Ralf Krause. In the summer of 1988 the band signed a record contract with the label No Remorse Records. Shortly before Ingo millek left the band and was replaced by guitarist Sascha Paeth.

The first CD In Control from 1989 arrived in Japan in the top ten import charts. In the same year they took the mini - CD Open The Gate And Watch on the Horus Studio. In 1990 the band moved to the record company SPV / Steamhammer. Simultaneously, a management contract was signed with the Hamburg manager Limb Schnoor. The second album Livin ' In Hysteria of 1991 became a worldwide success. In Japan alone, the album sold more than 40,000 times. There followed in 1992 the album Hell For Sale; the most successful works of the five Wolfsburg. This was followed by an extensive tour. The two shows at the legendary Club Chitta in Tokyo were recorded live and released in the fall of 1993 as a live CD Live For Sale.

After the world tour bass Manni Jordan left the band and was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Robert Hunecke - Rizzo. Built in 1994, the band in Wolfsburg GATE STUDIO. Guitarist Sascha Paeth producing, in 1996, the album Planet E. After that followed the Unplugged album In The Mood ( 1997) and the CD Menergy (1999). After a metal festival in Sweden, the band split in late 1999.

Sascha Paeth was then producer. 2003 played almost the whole band again in the metal opera Days of Rising Doom with which was composed by Amanda Somerville, Robert Rizzo and Sascha Paeth - Hunecke. Thomas Rettke founded by Sascha 2005 power metal band Redkey, which the album Rage Of Fire released worldwide in 2006.
