Heckler & Koch USP

The pistol USP ( Universal Self -loading pistol ) is manufactured by Heckler & Koch in Oberndorf am Neckar.

Technology

Made of polyamide with high glass fiber percentage, the USP is a chemical resistant, wear and temperature differences weapon. Barrel and slide are made of steel. USP utilizing a modified Browning Petter system that is substantially cheaper and more robust against the roller shutter system P9S and P7. Overall, the weapon proved in tests of -42 ° C to 67 ° C to be very robust and reliable.

Available is the weapon in the caliber 9 × 19 mm, .40 S & W and .45 ACP. In addition, a variant of the USP Compact exists in .357 SIG, whose production was stopped.

Models

In the army, a modified variant of the USP is introduced under the name P8 with other fuse or without fuse as a combat version, with a run from trains and fields instead of the polygonal profile and transparent magazine. The USP Compact is used in Germany under the name of P10 as a service weapon of the police in some countries (among the Saarland ).
