Hedströmmen

The Hedströmmen is a river and river system in Dalarna and Västmanland County in Sweden. The source is located in a small lake system in the south of Dalarna County. The headwaters form Lumsån and Baggan. The river flows mostly in the south.

It flows through the lakes Vättern Malingsbosjön, large lake and Nedre. On the river are the towns Skinnskatteberg, Uttersberg and Kolsva. South of Köpings opens the Hedströmmen in the west end of the lake Mälaren.

The total length of the flow system is 128 km. The catchment area covers 1060 km ². The average discharge at the mouth is 10 m³ / s

The Hedströmmen is popular with canoeists and anglers. In the river there is the endangered species of the asp.
