Business

The company was founded in 1936 in Berlin by Hans -Heinrich Reckeweg ( 1905-1985 ). "Heel " is composed of the initial letters of the Latin phrase: " Herba est ex luce " ("the healing plant draws its power from the sunlight " ) together. In addition to Germany Heel with additional offices in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, South Africa and the USA. The number of employees is worldwide in 1300, including about 800 in Germany.

The focus of Heel is on homeopathic combination preparations. The preparations of Heel support the Homo toxicology. The Homotoxicological system provides as well as homeopathy scientifically recognized alternative medical model of the development of diseases.

Criticism

The Company funded the endowed chair of the Head of scientifically controversial Institute for Transcultural Health Sciences at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt / Oder Harald Walach.

Heel financed with Claus Fritzsche an operator of several websites, who described himself as a journalist and devoted himself to this defamation by critics of complementary medical practices. It used Fritzsche different servers that are mutually linked, so the search results, among other things to manipulate Google and so to bring the critique in the foreground.
