Heidelberg Painter

The one with the Notnamen Heidelberg Painter, also Heidelberg painters, called Attic vase painter of the black-figure style, which was active in the period 575-555 BC, is considered one of the most important representatives of the Sianaschalen painter.

The Heidelberg Painter applies in addition to the C- painters as the most important representatives of this style. It is generally regarded as the more highly developed artist but had much less variation than those of the C- painter. Unlike many other vase painter of his time, he placed great emphasis on the presentation of figures that he also could represent considerable progress in what is obviously a high demand on himself. His characters are highly detailed, yet not infrequently drawn quite volatile. His earlier works remind of the Komasten the group, his future on the Amasis Painter. He was appointed to several pieces attributed to him in the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Heidelberg collection.
