Band History

After the band was founded in 2002, she recorded her first demo tape Het Gelders on folk song. There followed in 2005 the debut album De Strijdlust Is Born under Napalm Records.

In 2007 was Heidevolk with the German Pagan Black Metal band Gernotshagen together on the Through The Dark Forest Metal Tour 2007 go. It was followed a year later the second album Walhalla Wacht from which already a few months earlier, the single Wodan Heerst was coupled with two other songs. In addition, the album De Strijdlust Is Born was re-released together with Wodan Heerst with Napalm Records.

In June 2008 the band by violinist Stefanie Speervrouw split due to musical differences.

Published in 2010 Heidevolk Uit Oude Grond 's third album, for which a music video for the song was filmed Nehalennia first time. Between September and October 2010, the band played together with Twilight of the Gods, Ensiferum, Equilibrium and Swashbuckle at Heidenfest.

For March 2011, the band announced that occur at several extended shows the Paganfest. In May 2011, Sebas announced plans to leave the band to fall.

The band started in late 2011 a new album, " Batavi " record. Was This is a concept album which released in early 2012. It was produced by Peter Tägtgren.

Style

Music

The music Heide people is dominated mainly by melodic guitar runs, violin playing and the occasional inserts of flute and jew's harp.

Texts

Your lyrics are written in Dutch only and treat the history, culture and mythology, Germanic tribes - such as the Saxons, Anglo-Saxons and Batavians. Particular attention is given to religion by referring to the Germanic gods. The Dutch province of Gelderland is due to the origin of the band special consideration.
