Heidi, Girl of the Alps
Heidi (Japaneseアルプスの少女 ハイジ, Arupusu no shōjo Haiji, literally: Alpine girl Heidi ) is a Japanese anime series created by Zuiyo Enterprise from 1974 After the presentation of Heidi novels of the Swiss writer Johanna Spyri, the story is the small. Heidi tells who lives with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps.
Action
Heidi is a five- year-old orphan girl growing up after the death of his parents with his aunt Dete. As this assumes a position in Frankfurt, she brings the child to his grumpy grandfather on the Alm This is not initially happy about Heidi, but is gaining much. Heidi spends a happy and carefree days with her grandfather and the goatherd Peter who guards the goats of the village.
One day Aunt Dete appears again on the farm and takes Heidi under a pretext to Frankfurt. There she is the person sitting in the wheelchair daughter of a rich merchant, Klara, company and to learn self- reading, writing and arithmetic. Heidi befriends Klara and cheer them on. The strict housekeeper Miss Meier gang like Heidi but less.
Because Heidi missed nature and particularly her grandfather, she is unhappy in the big city. She suffers so much from homesickness, that it is also ill and begins to sleepwalk. Then they must return to her grandfather in the mountains. In parting, she takes her friend Klara from the promise that it honors the following summer. Clara's stay on the pasture, the popularity of Heidi and the nature improve their health so much that she learns to walk.
Background
Heidi was an early collaboration between screenwriter and director Isao Takahata and Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki, the later founders of Anime Studio Ghibli. The success of Heidi in Japan led to the creation of the project, World Masterpiece Theater, where the production company Nippon Animation transposed every year from 1975 to 1997, an international literary work as an anime series.
In the anime implementation of the novel is a popular motif of Japanese literature, namely the tension between nature and civilization, picked up and taken to the main topic.
In preparation for the series Zuiyo the production team traveled to Switzerland to investigate on the spot and take photos. All occurring in the series buildings and places have real role models.
In the Japanese version of the bias Oshiete (おしえ て) and the guy Mattete Goran (まっ て て ごらん) by Kumiko Osugi were sung, which originates in the latter part of the Yodel Nelly Black. The theme song of the German dubbed version, sung by Heidi Gitti and Erika, was composed by Christian Bruhn, the rest of the soundtrack by Gert Wilden.
Heidi brought one in Europe so far unknown amount of merchandising items for children with them. Heidi appeared linens, cups, coloring books, dishes, etc. on. In total there were over 100 Heidi products in Germany alone.
Also new was a secondary use the Heidi screenplays as radio plays. There were ten radio play LPs and cassettes under the label poly (children's division of Polydor ), which were reprinted from the carousel -Verlag later. This radio plays include the original dialogues with the original speakers of the animated series in more or less abridged form - so especially some subplots in Frankfurt were completely excised.
The Bastion -Verlag published a comic book about this anime series.
