Heikki A. Alikoski

Heikki A. Alikoski (* 1912 in Oulu, † December 28, 1997 in Turku ) was a Finnish astronomer.

Alikoski was a student of the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä. He worked in the years 1937 to 1956 as his assistant at the observatory in Turku. During this time he discovered 13 asteroids. According to him even the asteroid ( 1567) Alikoski is named, had discovered the Väisälä 1941.

Heikki Alikoski helped Väisälä later in the founding and establishment of the " Turku Astronomy and Optical Institute ".
