Heimito von Doderer-Literaturpreis
The Heimito of Doderer Literature Prize was instituted in 1996 to mark the 100th birthday of Heimito Doderer Henner Löffler. With him on the one hand to the memory of " one of the most important writers " of the 20th century are kept awake, on the other hand to be honored individual or total work of contemporary writers who " by high speech sensitivity and originality in the tradition of " distinguished Doderer.
The award ceremony took place in 1996 in Vienna and 1997 in Berlin, since 1998 the price will be awarded in Cologne.
" Narrative strong first works " are awarded the prize for Heimito of Doderer Prize for Literature; on special occasions special prizes will be awarded. The main prize is endowed with prize money of 20,000 euros (since 2006), the funding and special prizes are endowed with 5,000 euros.
In 1990, Society for Art and culture were once awarded Doderer literary awards from the NöART Lower Austria. Prize winners were then Robert Manasseh and Kurt Strasser.
