Heinrich Jakob Fried

Heinrich Jakob Fried ( born March 11, 1802 in Queichheim in the Bavarian Palatinate, † November 2, 1870 in Munich) was a German painter.

Life

Heinrich Jakob Fried trained at art school in Augsburg and at the academy at Munich, under Johann Peter von Langer and Peter von Cornelius and turned initially mainly of historical painting in the romantic sense to. In 1830, he published under the title of remembering the past, or the Rhine Palatinate a lithographic collection of views historical monuments of the Palatinate. From 1834 to 1837 he stayed in Italy, and in 1845 he received the post of curator of the Kunstverein in Munich, which he held until his death.
