Heinrich Köhler

Franz Heinrich Köhler ( born September 29, 1878 in Karlsruhe, † February 6, 1949 ) was a German politician ( center, later CDU).

Life and work

After training in the customs service, he was elected in 1911 in the Karlsruhe City Council, where he remained until 1920. From 1913 to 1927 he represented his party in the Second Chamber of the States General Baden Baden or in parliament. In 1926 he became a member of the Scientific Catholic Student Association Unitas Freiburg.

He was finance minister in Baden from 1920 to 1927 and in that time twice in the short term president, and thus head of the cabinets Köhler I and Köhler II From 1927 to 1928 he officiated in the Cabinet Marx IV as Reich Minister of Finance, then he sat until 1932 in the Reichstag.
