Heinrich Limpricht

Heinrich Franz Peter Limpricht (* April 21, 1827 in Eutin, † May 13 1909 in Greifswald ) was a German chemist.

Life

Limpricht was a student of Friedrich Wöhler. It dealt with the chemistry of furan and pyrrole. 1852 was Limpricht lecturer and associate professor in Göttingen from 1855, before he became a full professor in 1860 at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Greifswald. He retired in 1900 and was succeeded by Karl von Auwers from Heidelberg.

His eldest daughter Mary (1856-1925) married on June 25, 1875 the Protestant theologian Julius Wellhausen.

One of his students was Robert Otto.
