Heinrich Mendelssohn

Heinrich Mendelssohn ( born February 21, 1881 in Poznan, † August 7, 1959 in Geneva ) was a Berlin building contractor and builder.

Life

Mendelssohn worked before 1914 in the development of several Neighborhood: Hansaviertel Olivaerplatz.

He built, among others, in collaboration with Albert Heilmann the Europe House in Berlin, which now houses the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, further comprising the architect Heinrich Straumer the "old" America House on the military road (near the Theodor -Heuss -Platz) also in Berlin.

During the Third Reich he was in exile in England in 1946 and returned back to Germany.

Heinrich Mendelssohn does not belong to the descendants of the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn.
