Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz-Preis

The Heinz Maier- Leibnitz Prize (own spelling Heinz Maier- Leibnitz Prize ) was awarded in 1977 for the first time by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and was named after the experimental and nuclear physicist and former president of the DFG Heinz Maier- Leibnitz. The prize is awarded annually to an young postdoctoral researchers in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement and as an incentive for their further research. By 2012, six prizes were awarded, which were each doped with € 16,000. In 2013, the prize money ( € 20,000 prize) and the number of price transferor were raised.

The winners will be proposed by others from among the elected members of the colleges of the German Research Foundation, the research universities of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Union of German Academies of Sciences, the Max Planck Society, the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Science Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and German research centers. The winners and prize winners will be selected by a selection committee, which is appointed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
