Heinz Wöltje

Heinz Wöltje ( born January 4, 1902 in Hannover, † 26 September 1968, Windhoek, Namibia ) was a German hockey player and later official.

Heinz Wöltje debuted in 1925 in the German national hockey team. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 belonged to him and Kurt Haverbeck and Herbert Hobein three players from the DHC Hanover to the German squad. In the opening game, the German team won against Spain, then they lost 2-1 against the Dutch hosts, Wöltje scored the only goal for the German team. The full-back was missing in the game against France, but had in the match for third place against Belgium. Germany beat the Belgians 3-0 and won the bronze medal. Overall, Heinz Wöltje worked from 1925 to 1929 in 12 countries playing with.

After the Second World War Wöltje was present at the re- establishment of the German Federal Hockey in 1949 and served until 1965 as treasurer. He also worked for many years as chairman of the DHC Hanover. The 1970 inaugurated Sports Hall of DHC Hanover was named after him.
