Heleno de Freitas

Heleno de Freitas ( born December 12, 1920 in São João Nepomuceno, Minas Gerais, † November 8, 1959 in Barbacena ) was a Brazilian footballer.

The striker played almost his entire career for Botafogo and scored 204 goals for the club, most of them with his head. A title he could not win. In 1948 he moved to Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires ( Argentina). He returned the following year to Brazil, won in 1949 with CR Vasco da Gama, the Campeonato Carioca and finished his career with América FC in Rio. He died in 1959 in a sanatorium in Barbacena.

For the Brazilian national football team Heleno de Freitas scored 15 goals in 18 games.
