Helma Knorscheidt

Helma Knorscheidt, married Teuscher ( born December 31, 1956 in Nauen village ) is a German athlete who had - starting for the GDR - one of the world's best shot putters inside the early 1980s.

Life

She won the silver medal at the Universiade in 1979 and gold in 1981 in Bucharest. At the European Indoor Championships 1981, she was third, and at the European Championships in 1982 Sixth contains (20,10 - 19.64 to 20.21 - invalid - from 20.15 to 20.21 m). In 1983 she won at the European Indoor Championships silver. Her biggest success is the silver medal at the World Championships 1983 in Helsinki ( 20.30 to 20.70 m - 20.55 to 20.47 - invalid - 20:25).

In 1984 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.

Helma Knorscheidt competed for the SC Chemie Halle. In her competition time, she was 1.76 m tall and weighed 90 kg. In the becoming public knowledge after the fall of documents to the state doping in the GDR was found in the doped athletes also the name of Knorscheidt.

As Senior Helma Teuscher is more active in sports. Among her greatest achievements included the title in the shot put W50 to the XVII. Athletics Senior World Championships 2007 in Riccione ( Italy) 14.40 m (3 -kg ball ) and the shot put world record for W50 Senior Championship 2008 in Ljubljana with 14,94 m ( 2009 was surpassed by Alexandra Marghieva ).
