Helmut List

Helmut O. List ( born December 20, 1941 in Graz) is an Austrian industrialist.

Life

List studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Graz, where he graduated as an engineer in 1967. In 1966 he joined the, founded by his father, Hans List AVL List GmbH and took over its management in 1979.

List was also the initiator and namesake for the Helmut -List-Halle, a large convention center in Graz.

List is married to Kathryn and has four children.

  • 2010: Grand Decoration of Honour in the Province of Styria
  • 2012: Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, First Class
