Help Fight Childhood Cancer

Help Fight Childhood Cancer is one of the World Community Grid project for distributed computing. The aim of the project is to find a drug to combat neuroblastoma (one of the most common forms of cancer in childhood ). There were three proteins associated with neuroblastoma - with this project is to be found a drug that makes these proteins unusable.

Help Fight Childhood Cancer consists of 9 million chemical experiments, each would need on a single computer hours - a total one would need to calculate 8000 years. World Community Grid performs these calculations in parallel, and speed up the computation time dramatically. It is believed that the project will be calculated within 2 years or less.

To participate in a small program (called "Grid - client " ) must be installed after registering on the website of World Community Grid, which is available for Windows, Linux and Mac under the BOINC software. This program covers from the website then a task package.

The results of the calculations are provided in the public domain of research.
