According to census of 2000, Henderson has 986 inhabitants, of whom 452 men and 534 women.

Henderson is located in southeastern Nebraska about 4 km south of Interstate 80 Grand Iceland is located about 45 km west of Henderson.

History

The area of present-day Henderson was named after the first known settlers in the region David Henderson. This moved there in 1866 with his son and friends, and founded the town. 1874 Mennonite families began to immigrate from Prussia, whose descendants today represent the largest share of the population. 1876, the first school was founded in 1887 and reached a line of Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad location. In the same year were new houses, shops and a train depot and the town was officially registered. After the Great Depression of the 30s of the 20th century, the city was able to recover and increase its number of inhabitants. While Henderson scored 1920 485 inhabitants, there were 1950 536 and currently 986
