Henning Bahs

Henning Bah ( born March 12, 1928 in Copenhagen, † March 29, 2002 ) was a Danish screenwriter and production designer.

Life

Henning Bah was born in 1928 in Copenhagen. With 20 years he worked in an advertising agency, for which he produced cartoons. He then studied at an art school, but broke it off. Since 1952 he worked for Nordisk Film in the prop, in the 1960s he began to write screenplays. Later, he was involved as Production Designer in more than 200 Danish feature films.

With Erik Balling together he conceived the film series Olsen Gang and worked on it for 30 years as a screenwriter and production designer. Even after his partner Balling in 1998 had to stop for health reasons, he wrote the screenplay for the more recent film The (really) very last stroke of the Olsen Gang. For the children's film Olsen Gang Junior ( 2001), he worked in an advisory capacity. His screenplays for the Olsen Gang were also used in the remakes in the Norwegian Olsen Gang film series and partly in Swedish Jönssonligan. In addition to the Olsen Gang he also wrote the screenplays for the two series Oh, these tenants (1972-1976) and Anthonsen (1984).

In 1991 he participated in the production design by Lars von Trier film Europa, who has won several awards at the Cannes International Film Festival.

For its special effects, he received the Danish Bodil Film Awards 1974. He also won in 1986 ( for the short film John hemmelighed ), 1990 ( for The Miracle of Valby ) and 1992 ( for Europe ) each have a Robert for the scene image. 1998 Honorary Robert, he was awarded.

On 29 March 2002 Henning Bah died at the age of 74 years. He was buried at the Bispebjerg Kirkegård a cemetery in the district of Copenhagen Bispebjerg.

The film Old Men in New Cars - In China They Eat Dogs 2 begins with a dedication to the late Henning Bah.
