Henri Colpi

Henri Colpi ( born July 15 1921 in Brig, Valais, † January 14, 2006 in Menton on the Côte d' Azur) was a Swiss film director, screenwriter and editor.

Life

From his first film celebrated Henri Colpi 1961 his greatest success. Even after a year and day ( Une aussi longue absence ) was awarded the Golden Palm of Cannes Film Festival 1961. Two years later he was at the Festival in 1963 for his screenplay for the film Codine another prize awarded. This and other films he made in collaboration with Romania, including 1965 Pour une étoile sans nom after the presentation of a play by Mihail Sebastian. However, his films flopped at the box office, so Colpi turned to television. For television, he worked primarily as a director of television series. In the category of film editing, he was responsible for the documentary series Cousteau - Ocean Adventures (The Cousteau Odyssey ) nominated for an Emmy.
