Henri Coudreau

Henri Anatole Coudreau ( born November 16, 1859 in Sonnac, Charente -Maritime, † November 10, 1899 at the Rio Trombetas, in the region of Pará, Brazil) was a French professor of geography and South America researchers. He traveled in particular the river systems in today's French Guyana to central Brazil. This led to an extensive investigation of the local flora and fauna as well as the habits and customs of the indigenous population, which at that time were still largely unknown. After his death, his wife sat Octavie Coudreau on further expeditions in the Amazon region continues its work.
