Henriette Kjær

Henriette Kjær ( May 3, 1966 in Elsted in Aarhus ) is a former Danish politician of the Conservative People's Party.

Life

Henriette Kjær is the daughter of journalist Flemming Anton Kjær and the housewife Karen Nielsen. She went to the 9th grade (1982 ) the Brobjergskolen in Aarhus and ended in 1985 their schooling in Viby ( in Aarhus ) at the high school. In 1993 she completed her studies at the " Biblioteksskolen " in Aalborg from a librarian. Since 1988 she has been working at the newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

Policy

Henriette Kjær was chairman of the Conservative youth in their hometown of Aarhus.

From 21 September 1994 to 15 September 2011, she was a member of the Folketing.

As Minister of Social Affairs and Minister for Gender Equality from 2001 to 2004 she appointed an inter-ministerial steering group that would develop a new gender equality strategy. Each ministry had the task to appoint, for the period until 2006 own equality objectives. 2004, the minister of Eva Kjer Hansen was taken.

From 2 August 2004 to 16 February 2005 she was Minister for Family and Consumer Affairs in the Cabinet of Anders Fogh Rasmussen. She was forced to resign in 2005 after private financial irregularities of the couple Kjær had become known.

From 2005 to 2008, Kjær spokeswoman, transport and economic policy spokesperson and finally between 2008 and 2011 chairman of the parliamentary faction of the Conservatives.
