Henrik Samuel Nyberg

Henrik Samuel Nyberg ( born December 28, 1889 in Söderbärke; † February 9, 1974 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish Orientalist, the va worked on issues of Iranian Studies, in particular for Middle Persian, and the pre-Islamic Iranian religion.

Life

Nyberg was born in 1889 as son of Ida Jansson and Anders Fredrik Nyberg, one plagued by financial worries cleric, who also took over Nyberg's first training until his thirteenth birthday. Instead of studying theology, like his father, he went to visit a grammar school in Uppsala and studied at the university there, among other things classical and Semitic languages ​​and Sanskrit.
