Henry D. Phillips

Henry Disbrow Phillips ( born January 16, 1882 in Philadelphia, † June 29, 1955 in Boone, North Carolina) was an American football player and bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America.

He studied at the college in Sewanee and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1959.

In 1938 he was ordained by Henry St. George Tucker, and Thomas C. Darst and Henry Judah Mikell bishop. He was 1938-1954 Second Diocesan Bishop of Southwestern Virginia.
