Henry of Nassau-Dillenburg

Henry of Nassau ( * October 15, 1550 in Dillenburg, † April 14, 1574 in Mook en Middelaar ) was the youngest brother of William of Nassau, leader of the Dutch revolt against Spanish rule.

He was the twelfth and last child of William of Nassau and Juliana of Stolberg to the world, was brought up Lutheran and studied in Louvain and Strasbourg. He and his brothers Wilhelm and Ludwig joined the Huguenot army of Louis de Bourbon and participated in the Battle of Moncontour 3rd October 1569.

Henry and his brother Ludwig fell in 1574 at the Battle of Mook Heath. Their bodies were never recovered.
