Henryk Gulbinowicz

Henryk Roman Cardinal Gulbinowicz ( born October 17, 1923 in Szukiszki in Vilnius, Lithuania today ) is Emeritus Archbishop of Wroclaw, Poland.

Life

Henryk Roman Gulbinowicz studied at the seminary of Białystok subjects philosophy and Catholic theology, and he received in 1950 the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked in Szudzialowo as curate in 1951 and doctoral studies at the Catholic University of Lublin, where he in 1955 with a dissertation in the field of moral theology acquired the theological doctoral degrees.

From 1956 to 1959 he worked as a chaplain in Białystok and was subsequently to 1970 lecturer at the Seminary of Warmia and simultaneously worked for the diocesan administration of Olsztyn. 1970 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Acci and Apostolic Administrator of the Polish area of the Archdiocese of Vilnius in Białystok.

The episcopal ordination he received on 9 February 1970 by Primate Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski.
