The Henty River is a river in the west of the Australian state of Tasmania, west of the West Coast Range.

River

The river is formed west of Mount Tyndall at the Anthony Road ( B28 ) from the Dobson 's Creek and Newton Creek. He accompanies the road south until its confluence with the Zeehan Highway, the west it crosses under this confluence. At the confluence of the Yolande River of the Henty River bends to the west. Shortly before reaching the coast he crosses the Henty Road ( B27) and enters the Henty Dunes. There it flows into the Indian Ocean.

The headwaters of the river, where there is also the Henty gold mine, was regulated as one of the last of Hydro Tasmania.

Recreational facilities

In October and November, the Henty River is considered a good fish for trout water on their way to the sea. Picnic areas can be found at the bridge of the Zeehan Highway and the Henty Road.
