Heppel & Ettlich

The Heppel & Ettlich is a private theater in the Schwabing district of Munich. It was founded in 1976 by two native Berliners Henry ( Henni ) Heppel and Wolfgang (wool) Ettlich in connection with a pub. After the closure of the original location and the pub in the summer of 2009, the operation of gambling on the premises of the Chamber Theatre Schwabing is continued.

History

Heppel and Ettlich came in 1968 from Berlin to Munich. From 1972, she worked as hosts in Schwabing. They took over in early 1976 the " Fäustle Garden" in the western Schwabing in the imperial road; the local theater room traded from now on under the name of the new operator. Lutz Neumann participated in the theater management. The cabaret KEKK Cabaret & Dedicated cabaret, which had already played in Fäustle garden, the restaurant remained faithful. Almost twenty years found next to the theater operation on Sunday mornings film shows for children under the title KiKo - Schwabing children's cinema instead. Under the motto "Rock ' once again " the theater was on some evenings to disco.

After 33 years of local and theater operation, the " Heppel & Ettlich " the end of July 2009, it was closed after the inventory - many of enamel advertising signs from the Heppels collection - was auctioned to the guests. Susan Rohrer and Christiane Brammer opened at the old place of Heppel & Ettlich where they already appeared together, a new theater with adjoining local in October 2009, the Rohrer & Brammer; result of disagreement with the restaurant partners had to be closed this successor in May 2010.

Heppels original plan to continue the theater business in the premises of Theater44 failed in the spring of 2009 Later found another venue. Since the end of October 2009, the schedule of the Heppel & Ettlich in the former premises of the Chamber Theatre Schwabing about the restaurant is "Drugstore " under Ettlichs line continued.

Occurring artist

Some artists have started their careers in Heppel & Ettlich. Even Christian Ude is there occurred a cabaret program. Among the artists who appeared in the theater pub, included, among many other Fredl Fesl, Doris Dorrie, Axel Hacke and Christoph Suess.

Awards

Lutz Neumann and Wolfgang Ettlich received in 1998 the honorary prize of Schwabing Art Prize for the Heppel & Ettlich.
