Herbert Henry Dow

Herbert Henry Dow ( born February 26, 1866 in Belleville ( Canada); † 15 October 1930 in Midland, USA ) was an American chemist and industrialist. He developed a method for the recovery of bromine from aqueous solution (brine) using electrolysis. This work led in 1897 to the founding of the company Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. Until his death he remained owner and the first CEO of his company.
