Heribert Beissel

Heribert Beissel ( born 1933 in Wesel ) is a German conductor.

Beissel After leaving school at the Collegium Augustinianum Gaesdonck at the Academy of Music in Cologne, including Conducting with Gunther wall and composition with Frank Martin. In Bonn Beissel began a conducting career in 1968 and founded the Churchill Cölnischen choir Bonn, which he heads today. To Beissels musical repertoire includes orchestral music in addition to operas, ballet and choral music. At times Beissel worked with several orchestras. He was fourteen years chief conductor of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and conducted at the Hamburg State Opera in John Neumeier's symphonic ballets. From 1979 to 1984 he was director of the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen. Beissel was also founder of the 1986 Bonn Classical Philharmonic, which he heads today. 1991-1999 was Beissel General Music Director of the Philharmonic State Orchestra Hall, he is also co-founder and artistic director of the State Youth Orchestra of Saxony- Anhalt. From 2001 until the end of season 2005/ 2006 he was music director of the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt ( Oder), whose honorary conductor, he has since become. Guest conductor and guest appearances Beissel in many countries in Europe, America and Asia, a multi-year collaboration resulted with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo. Numerous recordings of orchestras under Beissels line were produced for broadcasters and publishing on CD.
