Hamburger Symphoniker

The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra is a symphony orchestra in Hamburg. The seat of the orchestra is the Laeiszhalle Hamburg ( Hamburg music hall). Since the season 09 /10 Jeffrey Tate is the chief conductor. Daniel Kühnel is the stage manager.

The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra regularly give symphony, children, chamber concerts and film in the Laeiszhalle Hamburg as well as operas and ballets at the Hamburg State Opera. International recognition was given by the orchestra toured in countries such as Britain, Italy, France, Spain, Scandinavia, Turkey, Poland and China. The popular open-air concerts in the courtyard of the Hamburg City Hall are always sold out. In January 2007, the orchestra went on for a month U.S. tour.

Artist in Residence in the season 2011/2012 was the violinist Guy Braunstein, in the 2012/2013 season, it was the Markus and Simon Stockhausen brothers.

History

The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra was founded by Ernst Markus 1957. The first chief conductor was Robert Heger. Permanent Guest Conductor of the orchestra was István Kertész. Since January 2010, the orchestra has been officially recognized as an A- orchestra. With the completion of the Elbe Philharmonic Hall Hamburg Symphony Orchestra will take over as Laeiszhalle Residence Orchestra.
