Herigonius (crater)
14.86
Herigonius is an impact crater on the lunar front side, on the western edge of Oceanus Procellarum, north-east of the crater Gassendi. The crater is slightly eroded, the irregular edge with largely flat crater floor.
To the north runs a high ridge in the Dorsa Ewing and west of the rail-system of Rimae Herigonius.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by Pierre Hérigone ( 1580-1643 ).
