Herluf Winge

Adolf Herluf Winge (* March 19, 1857, † November 10, 1923 ) was a Danish zoologist.

Life and work

Adolf Herluf Winge was the son of Karl Gustav Winge and his wife Anna Kirstine Mønster. He began in 1874 to study in Copenhagen and received his MA in 1881. 1883 he began to work at the Zoological Museum Copenhagen, where he was vice- inspector in 1885.

Winges specialties were the Mammalogy ( Mammalogy ) and ornithology. Another focus of his research was the fauna of Greenland.
