Herman de Lynden

Hermann of Lynden, Freiherr von Reckheim, (* 1547 in Liege, † June 5, 1603 in Rekem ) was a nobleman and soldier.

Life

He was in the service of the Prince-Bishop of Liège and of the Holy Roman Empire to the Emperor Charles V side. He commanded troops during the Eighty Years' War and the Sewer War. From Lynden owner was more important positions in the Prince-Bishopric of Liège, occupied Bonn in 1584 and was Governor of Cologne in 1592. He purchased the domain Reckheim at Liege. His successor was Ferdinand Gobert of Linden

Hermann of Lynden was the brother of Robert Lynden.
