Herman Egon, Prince of Fürstenberg

Hermann Egon of Fürstenberg - Heiligenberg (* November 5, 1627; † September 10, 1674 in Munich) was Lord Chamberlain, Chamberlain, Privy Councillor and Chamberlain of the Bavarian Elector Ferdinand Maria and played in 1658 in the imperial election in Frankfurt with his brothers Franz Egon and Wilhelm Egon an important role. In 1664 he was raised together with these brothers in the imperial princes.

Life

Hermann Egon was born as the fourth son of Count Egon VIII of Fürstenberg - Heiligenberg and Countess Anna Maria of Hohenzollern- Hechingen ( 1603-1652 ). He studied in Cologne 1639-1643, then 2 years at the University of Leuven. In 1651 he became a privy councilor at the court of the old Elector Maximilian I of Bavaria. 1655 his spiritual brothers gave him her share of the inheritance to a compensation payment; 1657 he also scored an economic balance with his brother Ferdinand Friedrich.

The rise in the Imperial Prince

The Fürstenberger belonged to the Imperial Count. 1664 Hermann Egon and his spiritual brothers Franz and Wilhelm Egon Egon were charged by Emperor Leopold in the rank of prince.

In 1672, he advised against the Elector of Bavaria from entering the war against France, making it the displeasure of Emperor Leopold drew upon.
