Herman Nicolaas Ridderbos

Nicolaas Herman Ridderbos (* February 13, 1909; † 8 March 2007) was a Protestant Reformed theologian from the Netherlands. He is considered one of the most important New Testament scholars of the 20th century.

As the son of the pastor and Old Testament scholar January Ridderbos he studied at the Theological University in Kampen, where his father taught, and at the Free University of Amsterdam. After serving for eight years as a pastor, he became in 1943 professor of New Testament in Kampen. In 1975, he retired.
