Herman van Horne

Hermann von Horn, and Horn, († January 31, 1156 ) was bishop of Utrecht from 1151 to 1156.

Life

Hermann von Horn was appointed in 1136 to the archdeacon of Liege, 1149 Probst to the Basilica of St. Gereon in Cologne.

When Hermann von Horn in 1150 the bishop of Utrecht chair climbed, he first had to assert themselves against the opposing candidate Friedrich von Berg. The bishops Albert I of Meissen and Otto of Freising had traveled to support Frederick in the survey of bishop. Hermann was able to prevail with the help of the Prince of Holland, Guelders and Kleve and Friedrich 1156 Archbishop of Cologne.
