Hermann Gollancz

Sir Hermann Gollancz ( born November 30, 1852 in Bremen, † 15 October 1930 in London) was a rabbi in the UK and Hebrew scholar. The first rabbi in 1923 he was elevated to knighthood.

Gollancz was from 1902 to 1924 Professor of Hebrew Language at University College London.

In 1921 he published a translation of Immanuel ha - Romi " Tophhet we- Eden".

He is the older brother of Sir Israel Gollancz and the uncle of Victor Gollancz.
