Hermann Rudolph Aubert

Hermann ( Rudolph) Aubert ( born November 23, 1826 in Frankfurt ( Oder), † February 12, 1892 in Rostock ) was a German physiologist and multiple Rector of the University of Rostock.

Life

Hermann Aubert studied medicine in Berlin and zoology, which he completed in 1850 awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine. After the graduation Aubert was initially an assistant to Karl Reichert Bogislaus at the University of Breslau, where he was appointed in 1862 to associate professor in 1854 and a lecturer. 1865 came the call to full professor at the newly established chair of physiology at the University of Rostock. In the years 1870/71, 1876/77, 1888 /89 and 1889/90 Aubert was rector of the University of Rostock and in 1869 and 1880 also elected Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Besides the function of the Director of the Physiological Institute, Aubert was from 1889 and from 1876 Obermedizinalrat Knight of the House Order of the Wendish Crown.
