Hermann Senator

Hermann Senator (December 6, 1834 in Gniezno, † July 14, 1911 in Berlin) was a German physician.

Life

Senator studied from 1853 to 1857 mainly in Johannes Peter Müller in Bonn medicine. Other teachers were Johann Lukas Schönlein and Ludwig Traube.

It was in 1857 earned his doctorate of medicine in 1858 and approved as a doctor. After his habilitation in 1868 he was a lecturer at the University of Berlin. In 1875 he became an associate professor and chief physician of internal medicine at Empress Augusta Hospital.

From 1881 he worked at the Charité. After the death of Friedrich Theodor Frerichs (1819-1885), he led the first medical clinic for half a year. 1888 this clinic was converted into the 3rd Medical Clinic, whose director he was.
