Hermann von Richthofen

Hermann Freiherr von Richthofen ( born November 20, 1933, Breslau) is a former German diplomat. Doctorate in law was German Ambassador in London from 1989 to 1993 and of NATO from 1993 to 1998.

Life

Von Richthofen studied from 1955 to 1958 law in Munich, Heidelberg and Bonn. After receiving his doctorate in 1963, he began a career with the Foreign Office. His work took him to Saigon (1966-1968), Jakarta (1968-1970) and in the GDR.

Family

The great-nephew of Manfred von Richthofen is married, has a son and two daughters and lives in Berlin.
