Hermite (crater)

104.64

Hermite is an impact crater on the moon near the lunar north pole, its interior is therefore usually quite a lot of shade. Therefore, the temperatures reach very low values there. 2009 was a temperature of only 26 ° K measured by the Diviner instrument of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter on the southwestern edge of the crater interior. It is the lowest measured anywhere in the solar system temperature and the crater floor of Hermite is so much colder than the surface of Pluto.

South of Hermite are the craters Lovelace and Sylvester. The crater Lenard covers parts of south-eastern edge of Hermite. To the northeast lies the small crater Gore, in the southeast Grignard. The western boundary adjoins the Wall Rozhdestvenskiy level.
