Herschel Daugherty

Herschel Daugherty ( born October 27, 1910 in Indiana, USA, † March 5, 1993 in Encinitas, California, USA) was an American film director.

Herschel Daugherty began his career in 1943 as "Dialogue Director" ( dialogue director ) to smaller feature films and has worked since 1952 as a director for various television series, including Bonanza, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Thriller, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible take.

For the work on the episode The Road That Led Afar the television series General Electric Theater, which was produced 1953-1962, he was together with his assistant directors Richard Birnie won the Directors Guild of America Award.

One of his few cinema movies was produced by Walt Disney Western The Heart of an Indian ( The Light in the Forest, 1958) from the novel by Conrad Richter with James MacArthur, Fess Parker and Joanne Dru. With Brian Keith and Robert Culp he turned 1963 Western The rough riders of Texas ( The Raiders ).
