Herstelle Abbey
The Abbey of the Holy Cross in Herstelle, a district of Beverungen in a circle Hoexter, is a Benedictine Abbey in East Westphalia. It is located on the territory of the Archdiocese of Paderborn.
History
The abbey was founded in 1899 as a monastery of the Benedictines of the Blessed Sacrament in the buildings of a former Franciscan monastery from the 17th century. 1924 was the collection of the Abbey and the incorporation into the Beuronese Congregation.
In 1962, the Benedictine Sisters of Herstelle a daughter monastery Monastery Engelthal.
Fields of work of the Sisters are the reception and care of guests as well as various arts and crafts activities.
